Please submit abstracts Dr. Deben K. Das, P.E.

San Jose State University GSTC not later than March 20, 2009
Washington State University GSTC not later than April 3, 2009

Preparing the Abstract
1Remember to include your name, advisor's name, school and department name, and title of the presentation at the beginning of the page.
2Limit the body of your abstract to about 10 typed lines (single spaced) with 1" page margins on the left and right side.
3Use a fontsize large enough for readability. Fontsize 12 (or equivalent) is recommended. Font face is your choice. However, many technical conferences provide guidelines preferring Times Roman, Universal, or Sans Serif.
4Limit equations to one or two in the abstract. Use the presentation to go into more detail.
5Use plain text, MS-Word, WordPerfect or Adobe Acrobat to format the document to ease sending it by email.
6Email a copy of your abstract to Dr. Debendra K. Das as early as possible. All abstracts are posted on the North American Pacific District Website. Abstract Index.

Preparing the Presentation
1Prepare transparencies and/or Power Point slides for LCD projection. Do not include too much information on the slide, it should only summarize the information you are discussing. Use figures, charts, and pictures to support what you say.
2Make Dr. Debendra K. Das aware of any special equipment or other needs that you have as soon as possible but not less than 2 weeks before the event.
3Official time limit for presentation is 15 minutes followed by 5 minutes of question & answer session.
