Mike Romero
Mike is in his senior year at Hofstra University studying mechanical engineering. He is originally from Corona, Queens and currently lives in Long Island, NY. Mike attended Valley Stream South High School where he kicked butt in football and wrestling. He gave up his plan to study physical education and play college football in order to pursue a degree in engineering. He helped start an ASME chapter at his school and is the vice chair.
Mike always says, “I rather be busy than bored.” He is currently working three jobs: at a gym, for a moving company, and as a math and physics tutor. During the summers he lifeguards at his community pool, bounces at a local club, and works for CBS at the USOpen doing IT work. He’s had two internships with local HVAC companies, and has a job lined up with Northrop Grumman in Virginia after he graduates.
Mike enjoys working out, swimming, and kayaking. He loves playing handball, riding motorcycles, and traveling. Right now he’s trying to learn how to play the harmonica and is working on his nun chuck skills. Wish him luck! [back to top]
